Last rites for L. A. (Lew) Ringer, 84, who died Thursday, March 20, at the Odd Fellows home in Mason City, where held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Loder Funeral home.

Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated and burial was in the family lot in the Riverside cemetery.

Born in Newark, N.J., on June 14, 1875, Mr. Ringer came to Jones county about 60 years ago and settled north of Anamosa where he was employed by the Hale, Ketchum and Condit families.

He was married in 1884 to Minnie Van Ness and one son, who died in infancy, was born to the union. Mrs. Ringer preceded him in death November 2, 1932.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Ringer lived in Anamosa where Mr. Ringer clerked in various business houses and operated a dray service for a number of years.

Following the death of Mrs. Ringer, Mr. Ringer lived for a time with his step son, Alfred Van Ness, Milan, Ill., who survives him. For the past four years he had lived at the Odd Fellows' home in Mason City.

Pall bearers were Ramsey Henriksen, Charles Ryan, Robert Ireland, Guy Beardsley, Frank Holub and Charles Dawes.
