Edgar M. Houstman, 78, died at Olin, April 22.

Services were held Wednesday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at Hayden Funeral Home, Olin. Rev. Edward Peterson officiated. Casket bearers were Marlin Laetare, Charles Holland, Vernie Wood, Edward Fall, Alfred Pauli and Arno Lawson. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery.

He was born near Olin, December 29, 1900, the son of Willard and Jennie House Houstman.

After attending Olin High School, he married Grace Guthrie May 16, 1923 at Anamosa. Couple spent nearly all of their married lives in Olin where he worked for several businesses. Later he was Olin street commissioner and then for several years for the Milwaukee Railroad.

He was a member of the Olin Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; one son James, Tucson, AZ; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Arthur, Olin and Oscar, Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
