L. A. Iverson, 53 years old, Jones county coroner and successful Monticello furniture man and funeral director, died suddenly at 4 o'clock Friday, Heart trouble was given as the cause.
He came from Ellsworth, 21 years ago and had lived in Monticello ever since. He had been coroner of Jones county only the present term.
His wife survives. They had no children.
The Jones county Board of Supervisors will appoint a coroner to succeed Mr. Iverson, at its next regular session, Tuesday, March 5. In the meantime, according to the statutes, any justice of the peace named by the sheriff to do so, can act as coroner if necessary.
