OLIN--Mrs. Susie E. High, 85, Altoona, former resident of Olin, died Saturday, Jan. 7 in Wilson County hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., at the Loran Fawcett Funeral home. Rev. Alvin Daetwiler, pastor of the Christian church, officiated at the service. Interment was in the Altoona cemetery.

Susie E. Holmes was born Oct. 12, 1875, daughter of William Harrison Holmes and Mary Payneter Holmes, Mechanicsville. She was married to George R. High, Nov. 9, 1893 at Cedar Rapids. Couple moved to Altoona in 1920.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Gott, Lynwood, Calif.; two sons, Frank High, Neodesha, and M. P. High, Altoona; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956; her parents, a son, two sisters and two brothers.
