Funeral services were held for Myrtle Eleanor Johnson, 89, of Oxford Junction Wednesday, March 22 at Hayden's Funeral Home. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa. The Rev. Ramon Booth of Cedar Rapids officiated at the services.

Mrs. Johnson died March 19 at the Mechanicsville Care Center where she has been a resident for several months.

She was born at Amber March 24, 1888, the daughter of Jacob and Matilda Crane Shields. She attended rural school in Amber.

On February 12, 1912 at Anamosa she was married to Verner Johnson. They moved to Oxford Junction in 1918. He died in 1969.

In addition to her husband and parents, preceding her in death were one son, Donald, one brother and one sister.

Pallbearers were Robert Duncan, Robert Rohwedder, James Sinkey, Keith White, Melton Meeks and Paul Shover.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors are two grandsons, Richard of Bellevue, Nebraska and Dennis of Davenport, and four great-grandchildren.
