March 3, 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

Miss Esther Chesire died Sunday, Feb. 27, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's church, Anamosa. Rev. J. A. McMahon read a Requiem High mass. Interment was in Holy Cross cemetery. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were John Andresen, Albert Meyers, William Fay, Lawrence Conmey, William Walderbach and John W. McNamara.

She was born May 31, 1878, daughter of Mathew and Margaret Hier Chesire. She was the last survivor of a family of six children, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors included four nieces and three nephews.
