OXFORD JUNCTION -- Albert E. Franklin, 60, Oxford Junction, died Monday, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m. after suffering a heart attack while removing snow from his car. He was manager of the Joyce Lumber Co., at Oxford Junction.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m., at the Methodist church, Oxford Junction. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, Delmar. Hayden Funeral home, Oxford Junction, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 24, 1899, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Franklin, Ellwood; and had lived most of his life in the Delmar area until three years ago when he came to Oxford Junction to manage the Joyce Lumber Co.

He was married Oct. 2, 1922, to Depha Pierce, Eldora. He was a member of the Methodist church, Oxford Junction, and chairman of the official board at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Masons, Oxford Junction; Consistory, Clinton; and El Kaaba Shrine, Davenport.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard, Maquoketa; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce Tarbox, North English; and Miss Mary Van Franklin, Albuquerque, N. M.; one brother, G. G. Franklin, Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
