Robert “Bob” Cerny, 71, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at the Mercy Hospice House, Hiawatha, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday morning, Dec. 27, 2019, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with military honors by the United States Army. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Caleb Schewe officiated at the services. Friends called after 9:30 Friday at the church. Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Robert and his family into their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the family.
