6 February 1936 - The Clarence Sun

The sad death of Dr. T. C. Gorman of Cedar Rapids, which occurred Jan. 24th, is of local interest because of two facts: He was born in Hale township Aug. 4th, 1875, the son of John and Mary Gorman, well known in this section in that early day, and that he was a relative of J. B. Curran. Dr. Gorman was found dead in his car at Fairfax on the night of the 24th. He had answered a call and had driven from Cedar Rapids to the home of his patient and had entered the driveway. Members of the patient's family heard an automobile roaring in the driveway car in reverse with the wheels sliding about the time they expected Dr. Gorman. An investigation showed the and backed into a snow drift. The tracks left by the car indicated that Dr. Gorman suffered a stroke as he drove into the driveway and the weight of his body was believed to have pushed the car in reverse while his foot was still on the footfeed, causing the motor to race. The cause of death was pronounced to be cerebral hemorrhage.
