Alberta L. (Fowler) Wink was born on September 20, 1932 in rural Oxford Junction, the daughter of Harry and Elsie Fowler. She attended country school and then graduated from Oxford Junction schools in 1950. She married Richard Wink on June 3, 1951 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction. She spent many years helping do bookwork for her husband’s oil business and helping many years with the Oxford Junction Fire Department, preparing the food for the annual fireman’s supper as well as washing and ironing the red aprons for the Fireman’s pancake breakfast.

Alberta helped with the Matra Dames catering service for many years until they all retired. She was then known for her gardening and flower beds and her love for baking cookies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She cleaned for Lahey Funeral Home for many years before retiring from that also. Her all around love for being outside was the most remembering thing.

She is also survived by sister-in-laws Gleny Flower of Oxford Junction, Margaret Fowler of Maquoketa and a brother-in-law Keith Wink and sister-in-law Belinda Wink both of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard “Dick” and a son Lonnie “Toad” Wink and two brothers.
