Anamosa, Ia., Nov. 26--The funeral services for A. C. Peet were held in the Bapist church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Peet died very suddenly in Los Angeles, Cal., where he had gone to spend the winter. Mr. Peet was born in this county some 69 years ago and was the son of Gideon and Cordelia Peet, pioneer settlers, and he lived on the homestead farm until 1883, when, with his wife and family, they moved to Anamosa. Mr. Peet was married in 1872 to Miss Emily Perkins and to them were born four children, three of whom are living. Mrs. Peet's health failing, the home was changed to California, where she died four years ago, since when Mr. Peet has traveled extensively, visiting many parts of our own country. He was a man of the highest integrity, respected and trusted by a large circle of friends. The body was brought to the home of Jacob Birk, a brother-in-law. The services at the church were conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. B. O. Phillpotts. The pallbearers were J. E. Tyler, W. J. Mills, D. A. Downing, T. E. Watters, C. J. Murfield, and E. Shotwell. Burial was at Wilcox cemetery. All of his children were able to be present.
