Richard “Dick” Switzer, 89, of Anamosa died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at the Anamosa Care Center. A private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date. Richard D. Switzer was born April 30, 1930, in Anamosa the son of Mervin and Laura (Hora) Switzer. He graduated from the Morley High School class of 1947. He married Martha Hayes, and the couple later divorced. In the late 1950s, he and his brother Jack started Switzer Brothers Construction. Together they built quality homes throughout Jones County. He retired in the late 1990s.
