The many Manchester friends of Mrs. Clara Carkeek Thomas will be pained to learn of her death which occurred last Tuesday at her home in Anamosa, after an illness of about three weeks with inflammation of the bowels. Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Carkeek, former residents of Manchester but now residing in Dubuque. She was a kind, intelligent woman and has a host of friends here who will mourn her loss. The funeral was held Friday at Anamosa.
