Anamosa, Ia., June 4--Anamosa people have been shocked by several sudden deaths within a few days of well known residents of the city. Mrs. Jacob Birk died early Thursday morning. She had been afflicted with asthma for several years and the cold damp weather brought on conditions that caused her death. Mrs. Birk was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Perkins, who were early settlers in Buffalo township, Linn county. Mrs. Birk is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mae and Jennie, and several sisters. The funeral services were held in the Congregational church Saturday afternoon.
