Howard (Pete) Countryman, 63, Wyoming, died May 21 at Veteran's hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services were Monday May 23, in Wyoming with interment in the Wyoming cemetery. The Rev. G. M. Field officiated.

He was born May 4, 1897, son of Nathan and Clara Parsons Countryman, Anamosa. With the exception of 6 years spent in Tipton, his life was spent in Wyoming. Dec. 18, 1927 he was married to Gladys Clemmens, Clarence. He has been a regular rural letter carrier since 1926, with 40 years in the postal service.

Survivors include his wife; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nial (Aleta) Paul, Wyoming and Mrs. Harry (Ethel) Dice, Pomona, Calif.; a brother, Lee Countryman, Tipton and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
