Robert L. Gray, 60, Center Junction, died suddenly at his home in Center Junction, Thursday, September 16th, of an apparent heart attack.

Robert Lincoln Gray was born February 8, 1916 at Anamosa, the son of John and Helen Gardner Gray. He received his early education in the Anamosa schools and then farmed until serving in the U.S. army during World War II.

Robert L. Gray and Dorothy Hardersen were married at Anamosa, September 4, 1949. The couple lived in Center Junction, where Mr. Gray was a carpenter.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Center Junction, the Olin American Legion Post and the Anamosa VFW post.

Mr. Gray is survived by his wife; one son, Robert M. Gray, Monticello; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Marie) Krutzfield, Onslow, and Helen Gray, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, John Gray, Center Junction, and Donald Gray, Monticello; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 20th, at the First Presbyterian Church, Center Junction, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. John Osborn officiated at the services and the Anamosa VFW Post presented the military honors.

Casket bearers were Donald Hardersen, David Hardersen, Roger Hardersen, Gary Kula, Jack Gray and Roger Gray.
