Olin, Ia., Feb. 21--Mrs. Lewis Westphal died in Mercy hospital, Anamosa, Monday night after a long illness. She was taken to the hospital and submitted to an operation Jan. 10, but never got any better. She was a native of Germany, coming to this country with her husband about 35 years ago, and at the time of her death was but one month past 65 years old. She was a kind and affectionate wife, and mother and a good friend and neighbor. She leaves her husband and four children, Mrs. Anna Hartwig of Olin, Mrs. Emma Rambow of Monroe, Mich., Will of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Ernest W. of Delmar, Iowa. One son, Lewis, died in Colorado some 9 years ago. The funeral was held from St. John's Lutheran church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Perschel and interment was made in the Olin cemetery.
