Anamosa, Iowa, Nov. 16--The death of Eber Peet, though not a resident of Anamosa, is an event that concerns the whole community so thoroughly has be been identified with the interests of Jones county. Mr. Peet was born near Fairview, in 1845. In 1852 the family moved onto a farm in Greenfield township, that Mr. Peet had homesteaded in 1839. On this farm Mr. Peet has lived ever since and in the same house for 37 years. Mr. Peet is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Orlana Chapin, and eight sons. The cause of Mr. Peet's death was a paralytic stroke, the fourth he had had. Mr. Peet was honorable, energetic and successful. He held the office of county supervisor for three terms and had many township offices. The funeral services were held at Martelle conducted by Rev. Bailey with burial in the Norwich cemetery.
