Evidently feeling that his eighty-six years were bringing too great a burden for him to bear, Frank Skiff, a highly respected resident of Oxford Junction, shot himself and must have died instantly. The tragedy occurred at his residence. He had secured a 22-caliber rifle and arranged the gun so that the ball entered his mouth and passed upward into the brain. He was dead when found.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Mayflower Cemetery and that he was born January 6, 1822 and died May, 1908.
