Florence M. Baldwin, 88, of Wyoming died Sunday, September 25, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming with the Rev. Jerry Egel officiating. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Memorials are preferred.
Florence M. Dirks was born on July 31, 1917 in rural Center Junction, Iowa, daughter of Gerd and Augusta Catherine (Husmann) Dirks. She married Raymond Martensen on July 1, 1939. He died in 1963. She married Leeon H. Baldwin on August 27, 1964. He died 1999.

She did woodworking and painting with her husband. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Sarah Circle, and a member and past president of the Wyoming American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and board games with her family and friends.

She is survived by her grandson, Jason (Pam) Martensen of Los Nation; 2 great-grandchildren, Alaina and Avery Martensen; one brother (Cliff (Sandy) Dirks of Wyoming; 4 step-daughters, Aleta (Glenn) Futrell of Hampton; Arlene (Russell) Edwards of Granite City, IL; Beth (Jim) Coder of Marion and Annie (Paul) Womachka of Cedar Rapids; 5 step-sons; Leeon W. Baldwin of Marion; Arnold (Mary Beth) Baldwin of South Beloit, IL; Gary (Helen) Baldwin of Lafayette, Oregon; Larry (Karen) Baldwin of Patterson, CA; and Dale (Mauri) Baldwin of Richmond, VA; 38 step-grandchildren; 67 step-great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, a son, Ronnie Martensen in October 2002, 2 step-daughters, one stepson, one step-son-in-law, two sisters and two brothers.
