Luella Bickford age 92, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa where friends may call after 10:00. Pastor Rodney Bluml will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Thoughts Memories and Condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com. Goettsch Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Surviving are 2 sons, Michael (Nancy),Mark (Rhonda) all of Anamosa, 3 grandchildren Holly (Brian) Loney, Cedar Rapids, Amber (Dennis) Holland, Anamosa, Dylan (April ) Bickford, Anamosa, 4 great-grandchildren, , Paige and Brooke Loney, Chelsea and Camden Holland, her sister, Helen (Dale) Gerst, Anamosa, and in-laws, Dixie (Robert) Danley, Springville, Roberta and Phyllis Bickford, Maquoketa and many niece and nephew, and her very dear friend, Betty Lubben, Onslow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles in 2005 and an infant son, Melvin Charles and a son Marlin Lee Bickford in 2015, 2 brothers, Louis and John Osterkamp, a sister Velda Dinse and a half-brother Elmer Osterkamp.
Luella Matie Osterkamp was born June 4. 1925 at Scotch Grove, Iowa. She was the daughter of Earl and Anna Ketelsen, Osterkamp. She received her education in the Black Oak School. On November 11, 1950 she married Charles Bickford at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. Luella and Charles made their home in Anamosa where she worked as an egg grader at Hayden Produce. Luella was an excellent cook and baker, particularly known for her homemade noodles, pies and rye bread.
The family would like to thank the Anamosa Care Center staff who have cared for her the past 7 years and the St. Luke’s Hospice Staff.
