Heart Stroke Proves Fatal For Francis Fagan

Death Came at Bisenius Store Saturday Afternoon

Relatives, friends and the community in general were shocked and grieved at the sudden death of Francis Fagan on Saturday afternoon, December 30. Mr. Fagan had been confined to his home the past seven weeks, having sustained a fall and injuring his back. Saturday was the first day he had ventured out and was seeming in good health. He was just leaving Bisenius & Sons Grocery Store when he was stricken with a fatal heart attack, passing away almost immediately.

Francis Fagan was born on April 1, 1891 in Richland township, the Butterfield neighborhood, son of Eugene and Sarah Jane Agnew Fagan, and attended the schools of Temple Hill. On Feb 17[?], 1920, he was married to Maye Keating. The couple moved to Clay township, where they have followed farming and where Mr. Fagan was a township clerk of Clay township at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War I and saw service overseas as a member of the 349th Infantry of the 349th Infantry 88th Division.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Merlin, a daughter, Norma and three brothers, Eugene, Joseph and Edward Fagan.

Preceding him in death were triplet daughters, who died in infancy, and his parents.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Devaney Funeral Home, Cascade, to St. Peter's church, Temple Hill. The Cascade Post of the American Legion of which he was a member, conducted military services. Burial was in St. Peter's cemetery, Temple Hill.

Pallbearers were Thomas Supple, Florian Manternach, Francis Connally[?], Francis Koppes, Dorrie [?], Clarence Foulks, Joseph Bisenius[?] and Louis Finn.
