Dubuque Telegraph Herald, January 7, 1957

Monticello, Ia. – Services for Lee Rathbun, 68, World War l veteran, will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church here. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Rathbun died Sunday in the Veterans Hospital at Knoxville, Ia., where he had been a patient for 12 years. He was born Jan. 1, 1888, at Odell, Neb., a son of Louis and Ann Hebul Rathbun. He married Mary Webster Dec. 14, 1921.

Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Altie) Cooper of Monticello, Mrs. Joe (Jean) Glenn and Mrs. James (Anna Mae) Dirks, both of Anamosa, Sally and Rose at home; his mother of Odell; three brothers, Elmer of Cedar Rapids, Arthur of Odell And Jesse in California, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Kasterke of Beatrice, Neb., and Miss Genevieve Rathbun of Odell.
