Maxine Luensman, age 86, of Monticello died Tuesday evening, August 2, 2005 at her son's home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, August 6, 2005 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with Interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Father Donald Schmitt will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where a parish vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. Thoughts, memories, and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com

Surviving are 4 sons, Jack(Judy)of Peoria, Illinois, Ron, Cedar Rapids, Bob (Sandy) and Tom (Kathy) both of Monticello, 17 Grandchildren, 15 great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons, Steven, James, and Donald, 3 brothers, Don, George, and Dean Nordmann, and a sister, Antoinette Howie. Maxine Nordmann was born February 2, 1919 at Monticello, Iowa.

She was the daughter of George and Mabel Kane, Nordmann. Maxine graduated from Monticello Sacred Heart High School in 1937. She worked in Dubuque for a while before returning to Monticello where she worked for Schultz Brothers Dime Store for 20 years. Maxine also worked for Jerry Nehl at the Monty Surplus store. She later owned and operated the North Side Tavern for 6 years. Maxine was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
