Olin - William Daab, 67, died Oct. 30, at Anamosa Community hospital, following a long illness.

Family prayer service was held at the Hayden Funeral home in Olin at 11 a.m. Nov. 2. Funeral services were there at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Stanwood cemetery. The Rev. L. Dutro was in charge.

Pallbearers were Earl Blake, Delmar Findley, Verle Harvey, Raymond Ropa, Mervin and Irvin Hotz. Mrs. Leon Stivers was soloist and Mrs. Galen Alexander, organist. Mrs. Earl Blake and Mrs. Willard Houstman were in charge of flowers.

William Morton Daab was born Jan. 15, 1899 at Paragould, Ark., the son of William and Lydia Isabella Weekly Daab. His mother died a month later and he was raised by an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Westly White of near Cortland, Ind. He attended school at Surprise, Ind.

After school he worked as a hired man in Illinois and Iowa.

He was married to Elsie Klinkhammer of Stanwood at Anamosa Oct. 14, 1922. They were the parents of a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Faye) Hamilton.

Mr. Daab worked as a hired man, then a farm tenant in the Mechanicsville, Stanwood and Anamosa areas. In 1939 he bought a farm west of Olin where they lived until 1956. They purchased a farm near Hale where they lived until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; a daughter, Mrs. Hamilton and 5 grandchildren, all of Mechanicsville; a brother, Charles, Greenwood, Ind. and a sister, Mrs. Dora McKinsey, Indianapolis, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Kate Herkamp, Giffithville, Ark.; a brother, who died in infancy and his parents.
