DEATH SUMMONS LOVELY CHILD.

After a brief illness which baffled the skill of the most competent physician, Mary Kenny, the ten year old daughter of Mrs. James Burke, nee Mrs. Anne Kenny, died of inflammation of the stomach, Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Sisters convent in Holy Cross, where she had been attending school the past two years. In the severe pains she endured, she showed a sweet patience seldom found in one so
young. When the illness had taken a serious turn, and she saw her heart-broken mother weeping at her bedside, she turned to her saying, "Mama, be brave."

After making an offering of her young life to God, she joyfully received Him for the first time in Holy Communion. She seemed to enjoy every consolation during those last hours, being under the same roof with our dear Lord in the Holy Eucharist; visited so often and kindly by Rev. Father Nagle, and surrounded by her loving mamma and the Sisters. In life devoted to the holy rosary, she went home to God and our Blessed Lady in the beautiful month dedicated to its honor.

Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Sacred Heart church, Fillmore, and her
remains were laid to rest beside her papa and brother in Temple Hill.

'Twas at thy door O friend and not at mine, The angel with the amaranthine wreath, Pausing ascended, and with voice divine, Whispered a word that had a sound like death Then fell upon the home like a sudden gloom. A shadow fell on those features fair and thin And softly from that hushed and silent room Two angles left where but one went in.
