Mrs. Hoag, 73, Buried Dec. 14

Olin - Olga Ursala Arduser Hoag, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie Kiburz Arduser, was born Jan. 28, 1894 at Monticello and died at Mt. Vernon Dec. 11 at the age of 73.

Although she had been in poor health for many years as the result of an accident, her condition became critical only a few weeks ago.

She grew to womanhood in Monticello, attending the Monticello public school.

On March 5, 1913 she was married to Louis E. Hoag at Morrison, Ill.

The family lived in Monticello until 1938 when they moved to Chicago, Ill. In 1954 they moved to Mount Vernon.

Following the death of her husband in 1959 she made her home with her daughter in Olin until March, 1962, when she entered the Mount Vernon Nursing home.

In 1907 Mrs. Hoag united with the Presbyterian church and had continued her membership in that church since that time. She was a 50-year member of Schreiner Chapter No. 226, Order of Eastern Star at Monticello and was a past matron of the chapter.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, a sister, her husband and a son who was killed on D Day in World War II.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Kathleen) Andre, Olin, 4 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Maude) Scheele, Monticello, and Mrs. John (Ruth) Schweitzer, Cedar Rapids.

Memorial services were held at Goettsch's in Monticello at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 with the Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Casket bearers were Ervin Von Sprecken, Don Starry, Newton Jr. Hollingsworth, Richard Strothers, Louis Strothers and Dale Strothers.
