Wyoming Man Succumbs After Fall in Crib

Wyoming - Robert Luther Inglis, 76, died Thursday, Nov. 30, in University hospitals, Iowa City.

Mr. Inglis died as a result of a fall in the corn crib at the Gerald Kruse farm east of Hale, while helping his son, Alex Inglis, with corn picking. He suffered a fractured skull and severe brain damage, falling probably 18 to 25 feet.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Wyoming, with the Rev. Theodore Neely conducting the service. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thomas Eichhorn, Gerald Kruse, Henry Markmann, William Finkenbinder, Rufus Brown and John Eichhorn.

Mr. Inglis was born on a farm west of Hale, July 14, 1891, the son of John and Ida Meyers Inglis. He was married to Lavina Corbitt on April 22, 1916. The couple lived their married life on a farm near Hale.

He was an elder in the Wyoming Presbyterian church and had served as township clerk and on the local school boards.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Al (Jean) Manetta, Truckee, Calif.; a son, Alex, Wyoming; 3 sisters, Mrs. Oscar Kinler, Olin, his twin; Mrs. George Clark, Gresham, Oreg.; and Jane Inglis, Wyoming; and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
