Rites Held For Mrs. Amelia Guhl, 81

Olin - Mrs. Amelia Guhl, 81, died Friday, Nov. 24, in the Anamosa Community hospital. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in St. John American Lutheran church with the Rev. Daniel W. Mohr officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Amelia Grimm was born Feb. 14, 1886 to Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Grimm in Madison township, Jones county. She was baptized as an infant at home and was confirmed in St. John's in 1913.

She received her public education at Oxford Mills and Oxford Junction. In 1910 she married Louie A. Guhl. They farmed in the Olin area until 1950 when they retired in Olin.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Verna) Bendon, with whom she had been living; a son, Floyd, and 2 granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, an infant son and her sister, Caroline.

Pallbearers were James Cousins, Paul Hartwig, August Laetare, Carl Feddersen, Herbert Lehrman and Virgil Vernon.
