Obituary

Enola Mae Caffee was born June 30, 1877, in Jones county, Iowa. At the age of three months, she went with her parents by covered wagon to Dixon county, Nebr., where they settled on a farm near Ponca. On completing high school there, she moved with her parents in 1892 to Wayne, Nebr., where she attended State normal school, after which she taught for four years.

November 30, 1898, she was married to Edgar A. Wade of Wakefield, Nebr., at her home in Wayne. To this union, four children were born: Victor C., of Wessington Springs [SD]; Howard D., who died at the age of three years, at Allen, Nebr.; Wilbur F., of Oakland [CA]; and Dale H., of Laramie, Wyo. She and her husband have resided in the Wessington Springs community for the past 25 years prior to moving to Oakland September 10, 1937.

On the evening of November 10, she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, as she was crossing the street in Oakland. She was taken by ambulance to the County Emergency hospital, but she did not regain consciousness and died one hour later.
The fact that she has gone on to meet our Heavenly Father, is not our sorrow, but the cause of her departure grieves us greatly. At the time of her death, she was 61 years, four months and 11 days of age.
