Anamosa Eureka—Emma Christina Ketelsen, a daughter of Carstens and Anna (Yetter) Ketelsen, was born on July 9, 1891, at Center Junction. At the time of her death she was but forty-three, four months and six days old. Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death John having died in April of this year.

She is survived by three sisters and one brother; Catherine K. Christenson, living at Monticello; Anna K. Shaw, of Olin; Ida K. Prull of Martelle, and William Ketelsen of Sand Springs.

The deceased spent most of her life in and near Anamosa, one year before her marriage was lvied with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Dethman, at Hood River, Oregon.

She was married to Peter Siegfred Johannsen, October 15, 1914, having just recently celebrated twenty years of married life. One child was born to this union, but it died in infancy, leaving the husband very lonely in his sorrow. Mrs. Johannsen had been ailing for a year, but was able to do the work of the home until about eight weeks ago, when she became much worse in health and had to take to her bed, death coming to end her life on Saturday morning, November 17. Mr. and Mrs. Johannsen lived on a farm near Wyoming for twelve years and then moved to town where they lived for the past eight years, having the respect and esteem of many of the residents of Anamosa.

Funeral services were held in the home and at the Methodist Episcopal church on Tuesday, November 20, conducted by the Rev. H. D. Green, pastor of the church Burial was made in Monticello.
