October 20, 1911–November 7, 1973CASS—Funeral services for Edward J. Postel, 62, were held November 9 at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque, with burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Mr. Postel died November 7 at his home in Dubuque. He was born October 20, 1911 at Anamosa, son of Lem and Louisa (Patnode) Postel. He was married in May 1934 to Rose Breitback. He farmed in the Anamosa area until moving to Dubuque in 1949. He had retired this fall from Dubuque Packing Co. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Shirley) Hansen of Hastings, Minnesota; one son, Ronald L. of Dubuque; nine grandchildren. Also six sisters, Mrs. Andrew Tobiason and Mrs. Carl Morning of Monticello, Mrs. Ray Tabox Anamosa, Mrs. Rex Heiken and Mrs. Ed Pospishil of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Charles Arthur of Purvis, Mississippi and two brothers, Merle of Monticello and Robert of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his wife on January 4, 1966; one son, Edward in 1937; his parents; and three brothers, James, Lyman and Lloyd.
