Former Candidate For Sheriff In County DiesEd Folkers, 44, of Anamosa, died last Wednesday morning, September 30 at Anamosa's hospital following a short illness. Folkers was well known over Jones county, having been a candidate for the office of county sheriff at the last election.
Folkers was born in Wayne township on October 25, 1908, the son of John and Rena (Schoon) Folkers. He farmed near Anamosa until four years ago when he moved to town. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rena Folkers of Anamosa; two daughters, Donna Mae, Kansas City, Missouri and Patricia, Anamosa, and by a sister, Mrs. Hattie Dirks of Langworthy.
