August Lehmann
Died 10 July 1900
A Shocking Accident.

August Lehmann Kiled by the Cars Last Tuesday.

August, aged 21, and son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Lehmann, undertook to jump on a west-bound freight train about eight miles east of Delmar Junction last Tuesday about 9 A.M. He missed his hold, went under the wheels, his left leg was ground to shreds below the knee and his right leg broken above the ankle.

He was brought to Delmar and Dr. McNeil amputated the crushed limb, but young Lehmann had lost so much blood that he died about four o'clock, fifteen minutes before Mr. Lehmann and Dr. H. W. Sigworth arrived on the scene by the afternoon east-bound freight.

The funeral was held from the residence at 2 P.M. today, conducted by Rev W. E. Glanville, of the Baptist church. It is a shocking casualty and wide-spread sympathy is felt for the family.
