Mrs. Harry LloydAlice Legard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Gerald Legard was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, April 13, 1865 and died at Mercy Hospital March 30, 1931, at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 17 days.
In 1884 she was united in marriage to Mr. Harry Lloyd also of Westmoreland county. To them were born thirteen children, three of whom preceded the mother in death. The Lloyd home was established in Hale, Iowa, and here raised her family of children, always being a devoted and loved mother. Those of the immediate family who are left to morn her passing are the husband, Harry Lloyd of Hale; the children, James of Anamosa, Mable of Hale, Alvin of Ledyard, Ben and Glenn of Hale, Nettie of Ledyard, Emeline and Merle of Hale, Violet of Ledyard and Cora Jane of Hale. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. F. C. Worcester of the Methodist church, from the Beam and Miller chapel on Thursday afternoon April 2. Music was furnished by Mesdames F. C. Worcester and James McMurrin with Mrs. L. A. Miller at the organ. Interment was made in the Cass Center cemetery.
