Anna Margaret Bohlken Hanken
February 21, 1882–January 5, 1960

MONTICELLO—Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. for Anna Margaret Hanken, who died at her home early Tuesday, January 5.

Services will be held at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, with the Rev. C. C. Gutekunst, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church in charge of the services and burial at the St. John's cemetery.

She was born February 21, 1882, the daughter of Gerke H. Bohlken, and Meta (Tobiason) Bohlken, Scotch Grove; married Fred A. Hanken, February 6, 1902 and they made their home on a farm near Monticello. They were members of the St. John Lutheran church of rural Monticello.
Survivors include her husband Fred; two sons, Gerke H. Hanken; Elmer T. Hanken, Monticello; two daughters, Berniece, Mrs. Henry Hayen, Scotch Grove and Emma, Mrs. Don Pursell, Monticello; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The deceased is also survived by one brother William Bohlken, Scotch Grove, four sisters, Mrs. Kate Paulsen, Onslow; Mrs. Mary Tobiason, Monticello; Grace, Mrs. Howard Soper, Anamosa; Minnie, Mrs. Henry H. Harms, Scotch Grove.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William and Edward and two brothers and two sisters.
