Warren Taylor Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith of route 2, Luana, passed away at Postville Hospital about three o'clock Monday afternoon following a sudden and serious attack of pleuro-pneumonia. He was aged 16 years, 10 months and 27 days.

Warren was an employe at the Postville brickyard, where he was known as a very industrious young man, who worked diligently at his labors.

Undertaker Louis Schutte prepared the body for burial and on Tuesday conveyed the remains to Calmar from whence they were shipped to Anamosa, the former home of the family, for interment.

The family came to this locality about three years ago and are at present living in a residence on the Don Lamborn farm north of Luana.

Notes: for researchers not familiar with the area, Postville is in Allamakee county and Luana is in Clayton county, the two towns only a few miles apart.
