RITES TUESDAY FOR MRS. HENRY BECKER

Mrs. Emma Becker, 61, widow of Henry Becker, passed away at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 21, at her home in Oxford Junction, following a brief illness.

Emma Powlishta was born September 30, 1877, the daughter of Frank and Rose Powlishta, residents of Jones County. Her marriage to Henry Becker took place October 21, 1896. They first resided on a farm and ten years ago retired to Oxford Junction. Her husband preceded her in death September 13, 1934.

Mrs. Becker is survived by her sons, Walter of Baldwin and Arthur of Jones County, and one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Sheldon of Monmouth. She also leaves two brothers, Ed of Oakdale and John of Maquoketa, a sister, Mrs. Anna Kubert of Oxford Junction and ten granchildren and thirteen nieces and nephews

The funeral was held Tuesday at one o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the Smithtown Church where the Rev. Mastin conducted the services. Burial was in the Smithtown Cemetery.
