SEVERE ACCIDENT-Mr. Henry Booth, brother of the editor of this paper was thrown from a wagon last Monday and quite severely hurt. He had gone into the woods with a mule team after a load of wood, and while driving over some rough ground the dash board slipped out and was thrown against the heels of the mules. This frightened them and they started off on a run and after going some four or five rods one of the wheels struck a stump throwing Mr. Booth upon a pile of wood, cutting a gash behind and a little above the knee joint which extended half way around, and tearing open the flesh to the bone, a little lower down was another cut but less severe. The forehead was also cut ad severe bruises were received on different parts of the body. The wagon was smashed to pieces. Mr. B. was alone at the time of the accident but made himself heard by some wood-choppers nearby, one of who immediately came for assistance. A buggy was procured and he was brought home, Dr. Gates, formerly a surgeon in the army, was summoned and dressed the wound, and the patient is now doing as well as can be expected.
