Mr. Nels. Hicks is slowly but to all appearances, surely recovering from his paralysis, the result of his peculiar manner of dismounting from his horse. By the time we presume he is satisfied that the old way is the best. We are rejoiced at the steady progress he appears to be making toward restored health and strength. It has been very much in his favor that he has never lost his courage or hopefulness. A man dead from his chin down to his toes, must be plucky to keep heart and good spirits as Nels. has. He is now able to move slightly his lower limbs ad his hands and fingers. Dr. Phillips has good ground for honest pride in the improvement of his patient. Our old friend, Fletcher Burnight, is Mr. Hick’s constant attendant and his sunny face and cheerful manner go far to help keep heart in the sick man. - Express
