The crowning event of the season transpired at the M. E. Church in this place, on yesterday afternoon, having been the occasion of the marriage of our popular county recorder, R. McDaniel, Esq., (familiarly known as Dick) to the handsome Miss Henrietta Spencer, of New York, but for the last few months a visitor at her brother-in-law, J. C. Dietz, Esq., county clerk of Jones County. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. C. Casebeer, at the M. E. Church, which was crowded to overflowing, with the friends of the happy bride and groom.

The bridal pair took the evening train Dubuque Southwest road for an extended trip through New York and the East. The hearty congratulations of their hundreds of friends at Anamosa and throughout Jones County goes with them.
