Heaven gained another angel the morning of March 1st, 2023, when Betty Lou Boyd was called home to be with our Lord for the rest of eternity. She passed away in her home with her husband, Robert Boyd, of 59 years by her side.

Betty was born August 3rd, 1942 to Earl and Dorothy Etherington (Dalton) of Southwest Iowa, who preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by her brother Lee Etherington, children; Christopher (Crystal), Stacey (Chris) and Amanda, Grandchildren; Samantha Hawkins (Jamie), Ashley Matthews (Bobby), Megan Rogers (Eric), Chase Linhares, Madison Linhares, Henry Linhares, Annabella Pinkham, Alice Pinkham, Krista, and Bridget. 7 great grandchildren.

Betty was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. She always kept up with everyone's lives and made sure all knew how important they were to her. Betty had her real estate license and enjoyed being a realtor for a number of years. Working first for Ira E. Berry and Coldwell Banker. She had a strong faith, Bob and Betty have been members of The Immaculate Heart of Mary parish for 28 years. Betty volunteered when able delivering meals on wheels.

For family vacations Betty loved traveling with her husband and children. Road tripping across the country in their large white van was a favorite pastime. Betty traveled to all 50 states in addition to international travel. Her community in San Benito Texas, Fun N Sun was their winter home for 18 years.

We will miss her warm smile and know she is watching us from above.

The visitation will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary, New Melle, MO on March 8, 2023, from 3 -7PM.

The funeral will also be at Immaculate Heart of Mary on March 9th at 10AM with a luncheon to follow.
