Margaret E. Essary, 68, of 3701 2nd Street in Coralville, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Margaret chose to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Friday at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Waldron officiating. The family will greet friends Friday at Oak Hill from 11:00 am until service time. Burial of cremains will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville, Iowa.

Margaret was born April 12, 1937 in Cumberland, Kentucky, the daughter of Lot & Katharine (Halcomb) Lowery. She moved to Iowa in 1977 and to the Iowa City / Coralville area in 1982.
She worked as a nurses aide at Iowa City Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and most recently was head custodian with the Iowa City Community School District at Iowa City West High School.

Survivors include her husband Ed Frees of Coralville; her sons, Mike Jones & his wife Darline of Iowa City and Kenneth Jones of Coralville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother Clarence Lowery & his wife Brianne of Independence, Kentucky.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Lullie.
