Funeral services for Margaret "Betty" Milder, 65, West Branch, were held Sept. 8, 1989 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Iowa City, with the Rev. Jack Gallagher officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Nichols.

Mrs. Milder died Sept. 4 at University hospitals following a long illness.

The daughter of Frank and Margaret Rogers Meade, she was born March 16, 1924 in Johnson county. She married Leslie Milder Feb. 18, 1947 in Cosgrove. The couple farmed near West Branch.

Mrs. Milder was a lifelong resident of Johnson county and a graduate of Tiffin high school. She attended Marycrest college in Davenport for 2 years and worked as a secretary at University hospitals for several years. She was a member of St. Patrick's church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Johnson County Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Patrick, State Center and Gary, West Branch; 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ann) Pruess, Clarence and Mrs. Steven (Janet) Berry, Iowa City; a sister, Mrs. Ted (Marian) McLaughlin, Iowa City; a brother, Eugene, Oxford and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
