Michelle Marie King

KING, HERNANDEZ, WESTFALL, WHITSETT, CRABB, PETTUS

Posted By: Sarah Fletcher (email)
Date: 8/26/2024 at 09:40:57

Michelle was a loving fiancée to Antonio Hernandez, and a dedicated mother to her children, Dakota Westfall (Lily) and Toby Westfall. Michelle was a devoted daughter to her father David Marion King (Niki) and her mother Regina Marlene Whitsett (Greg) and the best big sister there ever was to Stefanie King, Matthew Whitsett (Emma) and Sarah King. Michelle is also survived by her paternal grandparent, Barbara King, and her maternal grandparents, Monty Crabb and Rose Carter Pettus. In addition, Michelle loved her many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Michelle will be dearly missed by her adored dog, Hulk. Family meant the world to Michelle, and she meant the world to her family.

Michelle was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Barron Collier High School, in Naples Florida in 1998. She received an AA in political science from Santa Fe Community college in Gainesville, Florida in 2004.

Michelle was intelligent, extremely hardworking, and loved being an overachiever while employed by Noel Levitz, Geonetric, and Leepfrog Technologies.

At the young age of 33, Michelle suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and by the grace of God she survived multiple brain surgeries and relearned to walk and talk again. She constantly spoke of the driving force behind her ability to overcome the last 11 years, her ability to BE STRONG…Dakota and Toby. She was filled with pure joy to see Dakota get married and Toby graduate from high school. These were her most cherished moments.

Michelle loved going to concerts with her fiancé and sitting in the front row at all his shows. Music was her absolute favorite. She had a song for every moment, every feeling. She was a huge Florida Gators and Iowa Hawkeyes football fanatic. She knew and loved everything about college football, and she cheered her teams on every Saturday in the fall.

Michelle loved life and she had the most beautiful, contagious smile. She had a sarcastic sense of humor, she loved to laugh, and she loved to make others smile. She was generous, kind, patient, extremely thoughtful of others and loved to help people. She would often talk to strangers and look for ways to encourage them. She found tremendous enjoyment working as a delivery contractor that allowed her to interact and uplift random people daily.

Above all else, Michelle is a beloved daughter of the Most High God, our One True King, Jesus Christ and we know she is in heaven rejoicing with him now!

A celebration of Michelle's life will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1PM at Grace Community Church (2707 Dubuque Street NE, North Liberty, IA 52317) with a gathering to follow until 3PM at the Church.
