Ray Dean Campbell passed away in the comfort of his home Tuesday June 18th, 2024.

Ray was born September 3rd, 1947 and was the son of Donald and Lucile Campbell. Ray grew up in Laurel, Iowa and was a graduate from Semco High School in Marshall County, IA. He started his college career attending the University of Iowa and ultimately graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA. After schooling, Ray worked as an insurance manager and later retired with the company, AIG.

While spending time in Chicago working for insurance, Ray spent lots of time living his life to the fullest. Ray would go to concerts, Chicago Bulls games, Blackhawks games, and golfed with his good friend, Randy. Additionally in that time, Ray kept company with good friends and family on the Jersey Shore beach.

Later in life, Ray adopted his daughter, Alexa, from Guatemala City. Ray would love to spend time with his daughter at Disney theme parks, zoos, and would never miss her sports games. Ray was an involved and beyond loving parent to his daughter and she will continue to look up to him.

Ray was an avid Hawkeye fan and never fell short of wearing his Hawkeye merchandise nearly every week. Ray enjoyed IndyCar Races with his good friend, John and fishing trips with his nephew, Alan. Additionally, he loved to go out to eat and spend time watching sports and movies with his daughter, Alexa.

Ray was supported and survived by his loving daughter Alexa Campbell, older sister Lynda Stegemann, older brother Maurice Campbell, and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ray joins his mother, father, and older brother, Gary Campbell in passing.

Ray will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. One final statement Ray told his daughter was to always: “Be Happy.”
