Sally Crowe, 80, of North Liberty, died on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals with her family by her side.

A memorial service to celebrate Sally will be at 11:00am on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Lensing’s Oak Hill, Coralville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to National Newfoundland Rescue, www.nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com, or Iowa Prairie Network, www.iowaprairienetwork.org.

Sally was born on April 30, 1944 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Reinhart.

She graduated from Princeton High School in 1962. During high school she developed an interest in nursing while working as a nurse’s aide at Gibson General Hospital. She continued to pursue this interest by obtaining a bachelor of science in nursing from Vanderbilt University in 1966. She worked as a nurse in Tennessee, Kentucky and Iowa.

She married Dr. Raymond Crowe on June 9, 1966 in Princeton, Indiana. Raymond and Sally met at Vanderbilt University while he was a medical student and she was a nursing student.

Sally was a devoted nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who spent a life helping others. She was a woman of high ideals and strong convictions who worked to make the world a better place.

She loved crafting and gardening. She leaves behind with her loved ones her many gardens, flowers, prairie restoration projects, handmade cards and scrapbooks.

Sally is survived by her husband Dr. Raymond Crowe, her daughters Nancy Crowe and husband Robert “Andy” Eichfeld, Kimberly Crowe and husband Boris Renjifo and Amy Crowe and spouse Danielle Mayabb, her sister Susan Reinhart Schmeling, her brother Charles “Chuck” Reinhart and her grandchildren Gwen Eichfeld and Owen Eichfeld. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents Charles Reinhart and Dorothy Smith Reinhart, her brother-in-law John Schmeling, her sister-in-law Rita Kotter Reinhart, and many beloved pets, including, but not limited to her Newfoundlands Heidi and Byron.
