Lita Marie Glaspey, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2024, with friends and family by her side.

A celebration of Lita’s life will be held from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, May 18 at The Kirkwood Room (515 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City). Memorial donations may be directed to SAINT Cat Rescue and Adoption Center of Cedar Rapids Iowa (1200 16th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).

Lita was born on July 16, 1962 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Leland and Donna (Lucky) Novotny. Growing up Lita attended school in Iowa City, Iowa.

Lita had several different jobs in her life but enjoyed cooking in a restaurant and doing housekeeping. Lita’s biggest joys in her life were her family, friends and her animals. She loved to crochet, draw, fish and campfires.

Lita is survived by her two children Jamie Novotny and Robert Glaspey. Her cherished grandson Xander Glaspey; brother Martin Novotny and his lovely wife Lisa; her amazing uncle Gene Novotny; sister and best friend Martha Ogoli, boyfriend Kevin Kaufman her greatest love and many extended family and friends.
