Carol L. Kirby, 77, of Iowa City, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Iowa City Rehab and Care Center. Private Inurnment will be in Saint Johns Catholic Cemetery, Independence, IA.

Carol was born March 26, 1947, in Independence, IA to Don and Rosemary Bogge. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Oelwein, IA and grew up in Hazelton. Carol and was known to sew a garment during the day to wear on a date that night. She had a style that just came effortlessly. Carol graduated from The University of Iowa with a degree in French and Fine Arts. She enjoyed making French cuisine, like duck l’orange or lamb. Carol also enjoyed many forms of art from pottery, sculpting, and photography. She even taught an art class for a few years.

Carol is survived by her two sisters, Patricia Oakley, of CA and Maryl Bogge of FL; and many extended families.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Anne (Bogge) Fischel.
