Linna Gleason 1886-1983

Last rites for Mrs. Glen (Linna) Gleason, 97, were held at Solon Dec. 24 with the Rev. Douglas Peters officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery near Solon. Mrs. Gleason died at her home in Solon Dec. 22.

The daughter of Alfred and Ada Adams Hemmingway, she was born in Cedar county Sept. 17, 1886. She was married to Glen Gleason in Cedar county Feb. 16, 1910. He died Oct. 4, 1975.

Mrs. Gleason was a member of the Friendship club, the Solon Study club, the Methodist Women's club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had lived in Solon for 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Lois Anderson, Iowa City; a son, Emory, Solon; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Davis, Milford.
